English: Hotoh Pitha-It is made by steaming a paste of powdered rice and gourd(Hotoh). Traditionally it is made outside the house in Chulha(stove made up of clay) but it can also be cooked inside the house but it would be comparatively smaller . It is made by placing the paste between leaf plates and then steaming it until it acquired desired hardness.
These food are generally made by Santhal community in Sakrat (Harvest Festival of Santhals). Since rice is harvested during that time, major ingredient used in making these food item is rice (generally in powdered form called 'Holong').
